Her primary practice areas are within the telecommunications and information technology sectors, where she frequently advises on the laws and regulations governing the telecommunications industry. She also reviews and drafts commercial contracts that are typical in the sector, and she has been involved in high profile transactions in these areas.
In addition, her practice area sees her advising payment service providers on the technical and regulatory issues in relation to payments and financial services. This includes payment systems, electronic money, remittance services, anti-money laundering laws and securities laws.
Yuen Wei also regularly advises on gaming laws, and her clients include household names in the video game publishing industry. She also provides advice on data privacy laws and e-commerce laws.
Yuen Wei joined Zaid Ibrahim & Co. in 2015 as a Trainee Associate and was retained in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice group in 2016. She was made a Senior Associate in 2019 and subsequently a partner in 2023.
